Silverite
Discovered in abundance amidst the Brink Mountains shortly after the formation of the Crescent Empire, Silverite is an incredibly valuable natural resource. Named after its brilliant silver hue, Silverite is mined by the empire extensively for its incredible durability and versatility. Stronger and lighter than steel, the metal also possess an inherent magical aura, proving to be resistant to most known schools of magic.
Many scholars believe that the Silver Elves had access to and used Silverite before and during the Eclipse War, which is partly why they were so successful. Their knowledge of it and other possible deposits were lost with them, however.
Part of what makes Silverite so valuable, besides the tremendous benefit it provides weapons and armor, is its rarity. While much of the caverns under the Brink Mountain range remains unexplored, Silverite ore deposits are few and far between.
The Moon-Guard, Emperor Lunin's personal guard, wear Silverite infused plate armor, as do the dragon riders of Imperia. Lunin's crown is also made of pure Silverite, which protects him from mind altering magic and effects.
