Once Nex had established his Black Empire on Arkos from the Brink Lands, he set out to conquer the land that would eventually be known as the Crescent Empire with his army of undead and willing servants. At the height of the Black Empire , Nex had his conquered slaves build him a terrifying tower in the heart of the Vale, a reminder of his terrible power and watchful gaze. From his newly christened Dreadspire, Nex watched his epoch of fear grow, and eventually watched an order rise to oppose him.
Rebuilding the Dreadspire during his return in 1001 3A, the Dreadspire remained planted in Imperia after Nec's banishment by The Companions. It presently continues to loom over the empire's citizens, a stark reminder of the terrors the Fallen Ancient inflicted upon them.
