The Scarlet Fiend
Ambition, devotion, and will. To wish and strive for these things is noble. But the fiend drives a person to destroy all that surrounds them to achieve these goals: friends, loved ones, innocent lives, and eventually, oneself.Beyond the eyes of mortals lies the festring red sin known as the Scarlet Fiend. An incomprehensible monster; the parasite sifts through one's mind leaving clumps of insanity and a strong will to dominate others. For those unfortunate to have the Scarlet Fiend infect them, they contract what is known as the Scarlet Plague, acquiring crimson red eyes. Rather than infect the body, the Fiend is said to burrow within one's soul, or Anima. While in one's soul, the Fiend has access to all the memories and history of an individual within days of finding a home in its victim. This makes the Fiend extremely clever, as it learns how to toy with one's emotions and create opportunities to spread its infection to others. The Ultimate goal of the fiend is uncertain, though many theorize it desires to reach one of the Ancients and use it as an ultimate tool of destruction and control. Others believe it seeks to resurrect the soul of its old adversary, the paladin Liberus, so that it may infect him as a glorious prize.
