The Syndicate

The Syndicate believes in supply and demand. They demand you pay, and they supply the beatings.
The most powerful and influential criminal organization on Western Arkos, the Syndicate is inseparable from its city state of origin, Luxurpore. It is widely believed that the Syndicate control the entireity of Luxurpore and its functions.
The Syndicate originally began as a small shipping company based out of Luxurpore Island, similar in function to the Roame Trading Company. Originally selling exotic goods and services, over time it became more profitable to exploit illegal curiosities and dangerous materials. Through years of establishing their underworld contacts and employing tactical blackmail, the Syndicate evolved from illegal smuggling to a powerful and well-veiled criminal faction.
The Syndicate's leadership is comprised of a number of crimelords whose identities are well-hidden, often using assistants or localized gang bosses to carry out their orders and dirty work. The head members of the Syndicate are given the title of 'Chairman', as the symbolism of sitting around a prominent table is very important to those belonging to the organization. While on the surface their goals and methods may seem similar, the Syndicate often finds itself coming into conflict with The Purse, the latter ironcially stating that the former have no honour in their dealings.
