Pyeruille

History

Built at the start of the second age by the Fleygleam High Elf family, with the aid of many Hill and Blue Dwarf families Pyeruille has been mining more gold, silver and other valuable ores from the stone of The Brunedoore Range then the day previous for over three thousand years. Pyeruille is the parent city to Paytoire and they have worked with the people of Paytoire since its birth. Pyeruille is the single largest producer of gold in all of Armeylose and while other places may produce more silver, the wealth of Pyeruille has made it be known as the Bank of the World as over fifty percent of the gold coins in Armeylose are stampt in Pyeruille. The cities Pyeruille and Paytiore are considered to be sister cities by most, for one would not have survived into the third age without the other. From Paytiore shipments of food have been sent to feed the people of Pyeruille since the early second age and in return Pyeruille had made sure too keep Paytiores streets flowing with gold. The reason for Pyeruilles barren surroundings is from an ancient feud with the God of Seasons Pheodian, in the second age the First Elf Ardarien Fleygleam. Who was the grandsire of the Fleygleam Royal family and first King of Pyeruille challenged Pheodian to a game of chess, the game was for the rights to the hand of one of Pheodians Daughters to wed Adrariens son and make him Immortal. The end score was five games to three games, with four draws for a total of twelve games played. Unfortunately Ardarien was cheating during those games, with the help from a hag named Tredgue. After the games it was Tredgue herself to tell Pheodian that she helped Ardarien Fleygleam cheat in their chess match. Pheodian was furious and inflicted his wraith upon the entire city of Pyeruille. He vowed to end the Fleygleam line and destroy all of their allies who did not surrender. After Pheodian stripped the lands on the north side of The Brunedoore Range of their growth. Weathering the area around Pyeruille for thousands of years in a matter of seconds. This left the landscape barren and impossible to sow new seed in, leaving Pyeruille to require the aid of Paytiore to survive. After Pheodian created the desert that is north of the brunedoore range he fought against three elves. Two first elves Agis Melberry and Ardarien Fleygleam, along with Ardarien's son Felrien Fleygleam. During this battle Pheodian killed Ardarien Fleygleam then he disappeared. Some think Pheodian was killed by Ardarien Fleygleam, Felrien Fleygleam or Agis Melberry although none have claimed to have killed the God of Seasons. Others think Pheodian fled to weak to kill the other elves and that his is still recovering from his fight with them somewhere this belief is held onto by the last remaining pheodian elves who are still searching for him. The truth of what happened to the God of Seasons is a mystery that will always be tied to Pyeruille.

Entrance to the city

Pyeruille could only be entered by land one way, you must go threw The Brunedoore Range and then pass threw a series of gates. The first gate was a choice between two identical twenty foot tall iron bar gates set in a wall of stone. Guarding these gates is ten soldiers and one captain during the time of the Fleygleam rule, if you wished to pass either of these gates you may simply ask and the guards would allow it. The next gates were actually three gates set a single wall of stone, two of these gates were identical to the two gates within the first wall. These twenty foot iron bars lead to a final wall with two twenty foot iron bar gates, behind those gates was the main city. To get past the last four iron bar gates you would need to pass two checks from guards to allow you passage, The last gate in the middle wall was a small ten foot soiled stone door that would lead you to the fleygleam castle. These three stone walls called were set in a narrow valley with steep stone cliffs on either side. These natural walls combined with the walls and gates created a horrible obstetrical for any armies looking march a large force into Pyeruille as they would have to fight threw this passage way just to make it to the city.

One Kingdom

After Ardarien died fighting Pheodian, his first son Felrien Fleygleam became the King of Pyeruille, and he married his first child and daughter Sefilyn Fleygleam to Agis Melberries grandson Aligris Melberry. Now in the late third age Aligris and Sefilyn rule the Kingdom of Paytiore and Pyeruille as one Kingdom. The royal family lives within the city of Paytiore in the royal keep that is within the inner city of Paytiore. However they often spend many months in the city of Pyeruilles royal keep.
