The Pire Woods

Originally the most eastern part of The Brunedoore Woods, the Pire Woods is separated from the rest of the Woods by a curse that was contained in the second age to the boards of the Pire Woods. The curse was contained by a Sorcerer named Alfton Melberry, the sorcerer was never seen once he entered the Pire Woods. However two days after he entered the curse stopped spreading and has not spread again since. The curse itself is a strange red orange blight that causes puss and ooze to form and crust on the trees limbs, consuming the leaves and leaching into the forest floor. This curse still lives in the woods and seeps into anything that enters the Pire Woods. Infecting the animals that enter killing them slowly. The ground of the forest is reported to be unnatural covered in bulbous orange pustules that explode when interacted with even slightly. Inside these pustules is a thick acid that melts most things it comes in contact with. These pustules can grow at rapid rates appearing from out of seemingly no where within under a minute and continue growing to sizes well over five feet square. Not many creatures live within the Pire Woods and those that do are sickly twisted version of themselves with an orange tone and large boils growing out of them. The animals don't become effected until they reach maturity and once they show signs of infection the animals become enraged and attack any creature they see no matter the size. Few enter these woods in the third age those that do are thought to be mad and shunned in society for fear they will unleash the sickness.
