Syntherist

Syntherist attempt to purify, mature, and perfect certain materials. This is usually done by finding inherent properties of materials, usually natural plants and animal extracts, and combining them in certain ways to achieve a particular effect. One of the key goals of Synthery is to find the "universal panacea", capable of curing any ailment and resulting in immortality.
Synthery is clased as a type of Ferrology in Carthia and many other locations around the world.
The term "Syntherist" is commonly used as a derogatory term for herbologists, who are viewed as snake-oil salesmen and mistrusted by the common folk.
