The Raven Queen is the goddess of death, fate, rebirth, and winter. Back at Io's death that created many of the deities that are still worshipped today, Corellon was not married to Sehanine but to yet another deceased deity, Araushnee. The Demon Lord Lloth killed Araushnee in an attempt to absorb her powers and godhood for herself. However before Lloth was able to absorb all of Araushnee's power a mortal fey-kin follower of Araushnee stepped in and stopped the demon to taking Araushnee's full power and portfolio, the name of this mortal fey-kin follower was lost upon her ascension to godhood and is now just known as, The Raven Queen. The Raven Queen spends most of her time in the Shadowfell but she had also adopted the duty of protector and guardian of the Drow from Araushnee. Most drow follow The Raven Queen as the continuation of their patron deity while others are tricked and betrayed by Lloth deeper into the underdark and sometimes even to the Spider Queens own realm in the Abyss.
