Kingdom of Zabyssia (Zuh-byss-ee-uh)

Located in an elevated plateau known has the Three Lakes, the Zabyssian have created a solid kingdom where they haven't been afraid to embrace the world's development.   The land, Its climate, rainfall patterns, and fertile soil make the area suitable for herding livestock and agriculture.   The area has a large population of hyenas, who mingle around, searching for the carcasses of unfortunate animals, and the locals have mastered the taming of theses creatures, using them as honored pets and allies.   The Kingdom is mostly devoted to Klaar, brought a few centuries ago by Kaastian explorers, and since then the locals have become fervent believers. Modest temples can be seen in every settlement in the kingdom and their society. Their devotion to Klaar has smoothed relations with Klaar focused nations, who help the Kingdom survive against the impeding growth of the Haddan worshipers.   In battle, the Zabyssian use a mixture of rude firearms, gifts from the kaastian republic, and infantry specialized with the nation's traditional sword, the shotel.   A typical Zabyssian is has a slender frame, with dark brown skin and black hair. They usually wear colored silken robes.

Gongarr

  Nested next to one of the main lakes and surrounded by lush jungle, the capital city of Gongarr is a beauty for the sore eye.   Their architecture is widely influenced by ancient Kaastian, Cretian, and their neighbours, producing buildings in clear lines, with detailed windows. Zabyssians share some similiarities with Seph's architecture as well, with several tall and slim obelisks of faded blue stone spread througout the kingdom. The biggest of these obelisks can be found in Gongarr. This massive obelisk ascends to a total of twenty four meters talls.   The capital is also home to a large temple complex of Klaar, the biggest in the region. This monastic complex, shelters hundreds of Klaar acolytes and pilgrims who come to the holy city in search for enlightment. It's Home of a vast temple of klaar and capital of their religion.

Zabyssian Ethnic Proficiencies

Characters with this trait are proficient with the following: spear, arquebus, shotel, sica, buckler, javelin, waraxe, dorze war club and birzal.

Characters with this trait may begin play with a battered arquebus (worth 20gp to a vendor). If they choose to do so, deduct from their starting gold.

Armor Restrictions

Characters with this trait can't use medium or heavy armor, with the exception of hide armor.

Worshippers of Klaar

+1+⅕ their level to spells DC for Clerics, Warpriests, Inquisitors and Paladins of Klaar.

Shotel Masters

+1+⅕ their level to attack rolls and damage with Shotels.

Hyena Handlers

+1 to Handle Animal and Ride checks against hyenas. This bonus increases by +1 every 5 levels.

Hyena Animal Companion has advanced template and the Powerful Bite ability. At 7th level they gain the giant template.

Wildshapers in Hyena or Hyenodon form get +1+⅕ level to their Attack rolls (with natural weapons) and to their Natural AC.

Shielded Musketeers

characters wielding two-handed firearms and a buckler gain an additional +1 shield bonus. This bonus increases every 7 levels.

Shrewd Merchant

Characters with this trait can roll twice for Appraise and Profession Skill Checks and choose the higher roll.

+1+⅕ their level to diplomacy checks against Cretian, Zancian, Kaastians and Polzani characters.
