Ashfell
The far western continent, reaching from the Ghost and Hesterian Seas in the south to the Yokai Rift in the far North. Ashfell is home to hardy and capable denizens. This land has seen some of the deadliest conflicts in all of history, to include the final battle of the Calamity war and the bloody Reign of Tears hundreds of years later. Its lands are bountiful in natural resources but treacherous to navigate, many travel to Ashfell hoping for a better future. Many find only blood and ash.
Geography
Siracusan Archipelago: A string of islands that number in the thousands, resting at the southern most end of Ashfell. Nestled between the Ghost and Hesterian Seas, this area is home to beautiful beaches, tropical jungles, expansive reefs, frozen mountains, and scattered caverns. Home to the most varied and exotic sea life in all of Arvakein, the waters of this Archipelago are as beautiful as they are dangerous.
Tolivarean Bog: Thickets of trees and deep swamps blanket central Ashfell. Said to have been created after a coven of witches retaliated against Imperial trespass, the Bog has swallowed up entire cities. Home to venomous and poisonous fauna and flora alike, this bog sits as a perfect inconvenience for travelers and merchants seeking to cross Ashfell. Though dangerous, many hidden treasures are fabled to rest in the depths of the Bog for those brave, or foolhardy, enough to seek them.
Erasmian Wilds: A massive series of forests, hills, rivers, and groves that blanket the majority of southern Ashfell. These wilds are home to many settlements, varied creatures, and ancient ruins dating back to the Imperium. Easily the largest biome on Ashfell (seconded only by the Stovaren woods), this area is of great interest to adventurers and scouts alike.
Galifreyan Mountains: A large mountain range running the length of Ashfell, sometimes refered to as the Spines of Ashfell. Vast, treacherours, and teeming with natural resources and dangerous creatures alike. The Galifreyan mountains boast some of the tallest peaks and lowest canyons in all of Arvakien. Not for the feint of hearted, for the bold may find their fortunes within... or their fall.
Stygian Expanse: The Western most reachs of Ashfell are a land of darkness, mystery, and death. Just west of the slopes of the Galifreyan mountains sits an expanse of dark grass, strange trees, and menacing hills. The final battle of the Calamity war was waged here, leaving almost no survivors. This land is rumored to house only the dead and memories of the past, and it is forbidden by most nations for travelers to visit there. But what if there is more to this strange land than most want to believe.
Stovarian Wood: Deep woods and sprawling forests that almost smother the northern reaches of Ashfell. The stovarean woods are some of the thickest forests in all of Arvekien. Home to some of the most dangerous and beautiful creatures seen in the realm, few ever see more than the outskirts of the woods. For deep in the groves lie the World Trees, gargantuan trees that touch the heavens themselves, as well as deadly defenders who do not take kindly to trespassers.
The Scar: Aptly named, the Scar is the remnants of one of the cataclysmic battles in the Calamity war. Arid red sands cover the charred black rock beneath, hiding away the ruins of Imperial cities. The scar bisects Northern Ashfell from the mid Ashfell and is not traveled lightly. Wild magic permeates the very ground and rumors of tainted souls marauding the dunes mean travelers must move with caution.
