Shar
(a.k.a. Lady of Shadow, Mistress of Mysteries)
Shar was Mystra's twin, equal in power and boundless in ambition. As Mystra crafted The Weave, Shar followed in secret to create the Shadow Weave.
In a plot against her sister, she allied with Asmodeus to claim and share Mystra's power. But Asmoedus is the most devious of them all, and his deal was an underhanded one. He murdered Shar and consumed her heart - her divine spark, gaining her power and control of the Shadow Weave. He used this power to tighten the Weave, breaking the boundaries of the planes, initiating The Cataclysm.
When Asmodeus was defeated, the gods knew that Shar's Divine Spark would corrupt anyone who tried to carry it. So it was left in the hands of the most selfless members of the church of Chauntea, who hid it in our world.
