Vanuk the Soulbreaker
Vanuk was a powerful necromancer who performed the old rituals of Koschei the Undying to become a lich. Vanuk led armies in conquest across Arvor in the Soulbreaker Wars, often boldly weilding brutal magic on the front lines. Each time the opposition killed him, he was reincarnated near his phylactery.
The armies of Kelemvor understood what they were up against, so when they defeated him the final time, they didn't kill him. Instead, they trapped his body in a secret prison so that he could never escape to reincarnate.
Unbeknownst to most, that prison is hidden beneath Dunagan. In the centuries since, acolytes of Kelemvor have guarded the temple and prevented anyone from finding or freeing him.
