Baku

Benevolent Yōkai that diligently watch over the dreams of Yumeoka's residents. The Baku is a passive Yōkai, rarely manifesting in front of mortals who are awake. It is said the Baku is shy and will not return to a home that is actively trying to catch a glimpse of it. This strange creature has an elephant's trunk, a rhino's eyes, an ox's tail, and a tiger's paws. Those under its protection never have bad dreams, as the Baku will viciously consume them to protect its people and it is especially vicious to those Oni and Yōkai that seek to harm children, guarding them against evil and pestilence.
