Where are we?

The party wakes up on the Winter's Bite but find that nothing is as it should be. Though they did recognize it slightly, having witnessed something like this before. After battles with shadows they woke again to find themselves once again on the Winter's Bite but everything was as it should be. Except... they lost 36 hours.

Harold and Thymeros went to sleep as normal while Kronk fell asleep in the crows nest. Upon opening their eyes they found themselves still on the Winter's Bite but everything was dark and covered in deep shadows. The world appeared as if all color had been sucked from it and only those with darkvision could see the faintest of vibrant colors. They met up on the main deck but found that another person had joined them, Marhazar. He warned of a coming danger and that the party had to come resuce him from Norgorber's Messenger.   The party interacted with Maldrek who had been walking back and forth across the deck and like all the other sailors looked tortured. All over his body in open wounds algae and small animals had begun to grow. As they tried to tie him up he attacked Thymeros. The party managed to get him off and as soon as they stopped touching him he disappeared into the shadow out of which great shadow dogs appeared. They fought and won then decided to go to the captains quarters.   Upon entering they didn't see anything except Harold who noticed a shadowy figure in the corner that was disfigured and as he called out to it the figure attacked. They quickly were able to put this figure down and then in its place a twisted and tortured humanoid like figure appeared. It wielded an oversized butchers knife and began attacking. A long battle ensued and upon its death the party came awake again to laying in the crews quarters of the Winters Bite but everything appeared to be back to normal. Though they found out that they had lost 36 hours and had gotten not rest giving them two levels of exhaustion.
