Ash Serpents are a species of sidewinder adapted to live in the wastelands of Ashrain. The term is also a general name for the remnants of snakes that survived the ecological destruction of the Earth and adapted rapidly to life in the new world. The predominant species of ash serpent is a burrowing viper which lives in short holes just beneath the surface and launches out with fangs bared when prey strays too close. They are resilient, hardy creatures that can survive in even the most challenging of environments, and almost all of them are venomous and deadly.
