The Forgotten

Patron of forbidden love

Though some would argue otherwise, the Forgotten is more of a saint than a god. Once a mortal, she was Soreana's lover. Denied death, the one certainty of all mortal lives, she was erased from memory, unable to be properly mourned, even by the god who loved her. She is known only by the space she leaves empty, and is best known by those who know the feeling of a missing piece.

Domains and flavor

Clerics to the Forgotten are often of the Peace or Light domains. Poets and bards who know of the Forgotten often see them as an alluring subject for their art, and simply acknowledging her existence is a form of worship for a figure whose curse is being forgotten.

Myths and relationships

The Forgotten was a mortal, though any further details are no longer known. Soreana fell in love with them, and the pair had a child, Pomera. However, before Pomera was born, the Forgotten found herself on the wrong side of Kazja's temper. Not knowing, or not caring, that the Forgotten was a god's partner, Kazja cast her into the void, erasing her existence entirely. Some small spark of her memory was revived with the birth of Pomera, a two-edged sword for Soreana who now felt the absence of her partner acutely, but could not mourn properly.   Whatever remnants of their existence remain, the Forgotten was able to muster into the form of the Lera, sending them to carry her lasting affections to Soreana's ear. Their affinity for secrets stem from their creator.

Religious influence

The Forgotten is not widely known, though religious scholars believe simply thinking of her is a form of worship. It is by far the eminent form in which she is worshipped, with dedicated followers few and far between. However, among those whose own love is hindered and forbidden by their circumstances, the Forgotten is a bastion of hope and comfort that love can survive through adverse situations.
