The Rapid Anti-Material Lock-On Sensor is a patented Jaydei Aerospace Industries & Manufacturing technology, designed and heavily utilised for use by the Federation Armed Forces. As the name suggests, the sensor supplements gunnery and missile emplacements, by granting them the ability of rapid interception, which has become particularly useful in the modern age of space warfare.
Developed in 4677AC, the Rapid Anti-Material Lock-On Sensor replaced the Apreasean built Central Defensive Scanners, with a far smaller but more effective sensor array. Using a similar technology to FTL Communication, the sensor almost instantaneously relays millions of objects, from huge missiles to microscopic bullets, while providing a clear and direct targeting plan.
The Federation design is so successful in its objective that numerous other Galactic Powers have created copycat creations, though none have proven as successful as the original. It has seen use in multiple combat situations, including most notably the Destruction of the 83rd Attack Group during the 4760 Kidnapping Crisis, and by Envien Ground Batteries during the FNV Porter Hijacking & Attacks.
