Origins & Situation

Humans originated from a medium continental planet called Earth or Terra in the Sol System in which they constantly waged wars against themselves before becoming a space faring species. The amount of governments this species had is astounding, it’s like they couldn’t choose one and stick to it for more than a hundred years. But, as Humanity eventually unified under the Terrene Protectorate in 32 A.F, they started to meet other species and make deals with them, some of them even joining their Protectorate as a way to explore the universe and discover new technologies way faster.
Of course, all “good” things have an end, and Earth was destroyed from the inside out by an Awakened Atropus World which grew within its core.
Currently, Humanity's situation is dire for it is spread out across the stars, since their homeworld was destroyed, humans had to escape to their colonies and other nations.
Their government, the Terrene Protectorate, is no more and even the USCM is having a hard time handling the impact of such a loss, a good chunk of their reclaimed borders collapsed after a disaster regarding a biological weapon sent by the Miniknog, some of their troops became pirates; bandits and mercenaries under the Mafia of Mauve's control.
Then there is the PeaceKeepers, a sort of “space police” for Humanity that used to take care of even high risk missions like spying on dangerous targets like the Miniknog. They could not handle the diplomatic pressure and disbanded, however, it is said that somewhere out there, one PeaceKeeper is trying his best to bring back his faction from the dead.
It is from these ashes that Varkain Laboratories and the DayBreak Assembly were founded, each of them taking up the mantle of Humanity's old value and improving upon them.
