The Thirteen Divines

The 13 Divines are a group of deities worshipped the world over. Across the vast lands of Asylum are myriad religions, creeds and mythologies, most of which revere a version of one of these 13 gods. The prophet Alder, of the Aldrian Church, decreed that all gods are merely reflections of the divinity that mortals had forgotten, their true names and history lost to time; the titles given to each of these gods here serve as both the names outlined in the pantheon of the Aldrian Chruch, as well as the syncretism names used to refer to these deities in a general sense. For example, the Aldrian Church worships all 13 of them, and has constructed a vast pantheon consisting of gods such as The Destroyer, The Traveller, and The Weaver. The pantheon of Akhmaten, however, consists of only 9 deities, each with their own history and mythos that differs from that of the Aldrians. Despite this, there are more similarities than differences; the Akhmaten god Akh'Se is the deity of the sun, fire and war, and is believed to be an interpretation of The Destroyer, a deity of the sun, fire, destruction and warfare.
