Pirates

Pirates have no allegiance to any greater kingdom or territory, and only work to serve themselves, their ship, and their crew. They have been known to form temporary alliances with powerful nations, usually for vast sums of money. These alliances have been anything from trade agreements, paying off the pirates so ships don't get sunk or raided, or the opposite, paying the pirates to raid and pillage ships or shores of foreign territories.
Pirates show respect and allegiance to their captain, who in turn shows respect and allegiance only to the Pirate Lords of the seas the captain sails. These Pirate Lords respect each other, however this does not bean they do not fight or kill each other over the most debase and vile things.
