Verante (ver-AHN-tey)

Verante is a portside tall city on the far-eastern edge of Tasawa. It's best known for its textile exports and its dragon infestation.

Demographics

Mostly Southeastern Suktu, with a few Southwestern Suktu, Southern Adalei, and Polda mixed in. As is often the case, the occasional Camua dwells in the shadowy corners of the city. The Metropolitan Kalzua are noticably absent because of the city's distance from any active mines.

Defences

Despite being assembled unknown years ago by long-vanished builders, Verante's outer wall keeps the city protected thanks to its enormous size and sturdy construction.

Industry & Trade

The primary industry in Verante is sericulture, or raising silkworms for their cocoons. The silk is woven in Verante, but not dyed. That happens in the settlements Verante exports to.

Infrastructure

Given that Verante is a tall city, it has well-constructed roads, water supply systems, and sewers, each of which were restored over the years since the city was first resettled.

Points of interest

Where other cities struggle with pests like pigeons, Verante's squares and courtyards are full of scurrying, squawking dragons. Though they can be annoying, the citizens of Verante still have a fondness for the little creatures. In fact, they've achieved mascot status for the settlement, having made their way into Verante's crest.
