The Battered Blade
One of the taverns in Helmfirth.
It has been in the same family for generations.
It has a few chairs and tables in a fenced off seating area outside near the entrance.
Above the heavy oak door is a sign with a picture of a cracked sword and the words "The Battered Blade" above. In the corner is a large hearth with an old sword mounted above it. The fire in the hearth does a good job at keeping the tavern and its patrons warm. The tables and chairs are slightly worn but in good condition. A door in the wall leads to the rooms that are rented out to travellers and merchants. The door behind the counter leads to the kitchen where great amounts of food and alcohol are stored. Outside is a small stable attached to the side of the tavern where merchants and travellers can rest their horses for the night. The staff is made up of the owner Cecil, his wife Mary and their daughters Andrea and Emily. Their son Richard is the stableboy.
