The Engagement

Prince Hebedir ordered his archers to advance and fire upon Lord Grimbald's troops. The 1000 archers created a devastating hail of arrows. Lord Grimbalds troops had time to build barriers and shelters to hide from the arrows before the engagement and so took less damage than Prince Hebedir anticipated.
Lord Grimbald ordered his archers and crossbow men fire upon Prince Hebedir's troops in return.
Prince Hebedir ordered his melee troops to advance and attack.
As soon as Prince Hebedir's melee troops were in range, Lord Grimbald ordered his cannons to fire upon them, causing a lot of damage.
The troops of Lord Grimbald and Price Hebedir met in melee combat. Prince Hebedir outnumbered Lord Grimbald's troops heavily and were better trained and equipped so it didn't take long for Prince Hebedir's troops to cause significant casualties to Lord Grimbald's troops causing them to rout. Lord Grimbald fled with them and managed to get away.

Prince Hebedir and his troops are moving west towards the town's in The Uncertain Plains, getting ready to besiege them. This also cut the south of Laighenlia completely off.
The only way to and from the south would be through The Lamsend Thicket and then The Dreadful Marsh, a difficult and dangerous path.
