Iroya is one of the few countries that believe in the Galera Culture. There are not many countries left that follow that culture. Iroya is the oldest country that is part of the galera culture. Iroya existed before elemental magic spread around Aurin. But no one knows the exact date it was founded, not even the people of Iroya.

The Capital Osyahone

The biggest city in Iroya is the capital Osyahone. Most of the people of Iroya live in the capital. Others live in small villages or towns. Osyahone is the oldest city in Iroya. You can see that in the architecture of the houses. Most of them have ancient carvings that the first people of Iroya carved in to protect their homes and their families from evil spirits and forces. You can even spot some old runes from the older versions of their languages agano and Jeutali. Most of these runes are faded and hard to read, but some are still readable. Most festivals that are held in Iroya are in the capital. Many travels for weeks to celebrate at Osyahone. Everyone looks forward to the festival. During the royal families' birthdays, the whole city is covered in Iroyas colours. Blue and black.

The people

The people of Iroya are sceptical of magic and see it as poison. It is because they remember the times before elemental magic spread around Aurin. Their culture is old and one of the first ones that ever existed in Aurin. But despite their view of magic, they are very friendly and open. When they trust someone, they are very loyal, helpful and generous. But that's only when they trust someone.       To outsiders, the people of Iroya are usually seen as honest people who always stand by their word. They believe in fairness and honesty. It is their core and something they all live by. That is why some of them try not to judge a magician before they get to know them. But their beliefs and culture run deep. Trusting a melend (magician) is not easy for them. Especially not for the people of Iroya that live close to The Nuurun River. The country is built on fairness, kindness, honour and bravery.

Education

Most of the people from Iroya study at Merana - School for knights and soldiers in Chadal. There most of them become skilled warriors. Others study at Chaddo the school of the orcs. Iroya has some schools and apprenticeships around the country. But they are very local based on the skills and needs of the area. Every person from Iroya usually knows at least three languages including theirs.

The Elders

Every village, town and city in Iroya has what they call The Elders. The Elders are people that still hold on to the old ways. In the smaller villages, towns and cities the Elders are the ones who make decisions. The only people that have authority over The Elders are the royal family. But even they would be foolish to ignore The Elders. Everyone goes to The Elders for advice and guidance. They always have an answer, but you may not like the answer you get.

Trade

Iroya has a trading system along The Nuurun River. It is their prime trading system. Iroya also trades with merchants from the border countries. But most of their economy comes from the trade along The Nuurun River and their shipbuilding. Iroya also exports wood. They are one of the biggest exports of wood in Aurin. They also have the biggest export of River Leaf.

Nature

Iroya is filled with forests and mountains. They also have one of the longest rivers in Aurin The Nuurun River. The country is rich in smaller rivers as well as lakes. Iroya's forests are filled with fauna and flora. The most common animals in Iroya are deers, Brareg, bears, wild rabbits and wild boar.

Tourism

Iroya's tourism comes mostly from The Nuurun River. Otherwise, they won't get as many visits. Most people choose to only travel through the country. But those who stay and explore Iroya are usually pleasantly surprised by how much there is to do. Iroya has lots of festivals throughout the year. If you miss one, you don't have to worry, there is usually a new festival a week or so later.         Iroya has a very rich outdoor nature. There is always something to explore or look at in their forests. They have some of the finest views from any of their mountaintops which provide an excellent view of the neighbouring countries. They are also skilled artisans so don't forget to visit their markets. Much of what they manufacture is made of wood. Mostly carved. There are not many who are as skilled in wood carving as the people of Iroya.

Iroya's Crest

Iroya's crest is one of the oldest crests in Aurin. The blue and the black symbolise the colours of the royal family of Iroya. The axe symbolises Iroya's natural resources of wood. The circles in the crest stand for the long traditions in Iroya. The first one stands for family. The second one stands for their culture. Together they symbolise Iroya's culture and traditions.
