The Bato Mountain Range is the longest in Iroya. It is also the oldest. For centries when the country was founded sometime in F.M. (Before Magic), the mountain range was Iroya´s biggest defend. Through out history Iroya, Sogal and Seras have been in war at many times. Because of that they are many similar words in their languages. In Iroya the mountain range is called Bato. In Seras and Sogal The Bato Mountain Range is called Bundok. Bundok means mountain in Seras and Sogal. They called the borders between the three countries at that time for Bundok. The mountain. The people of Iroya called it Bato which means stone, instead.
The boarders by The Bato Mountain Range between the three countries have shifted through history. Sometimes Iroya had more territory, other times it was Sogal or Seras. After years after years of temporary peace and wars, the finally agreed on more "permanent" peace. Today the mountain range is something to help the three counties know where the boarders go.
Geografi
When you are up at the mountain range you can see the forests in Iroya and The Nuurun River that runs by the mountain. You can also see Seras and Sogal. The view from The Bato Mountain Range is one of the most beautiful views in Aurin. From the top of the mountain range, you can spot deserts. On the other side, you can see forests, mountains and The Nuurun River. Along the mountain range, grows different flowers, herbs and plants. There are also a few trees growing up by the mountain range. Many people visit the mountain in the fall for the view. When all the leaves have changed colours in the forests of Iroya, you can see a sea of red, yellow, and orange.
Climate
The climate at The Bato Mountain Range shifts with the seasons. In the winter some parts of the mountain are covered in snow. In the summer and spring, the whole mountain range is covered with blooming flowers. The temperature up at the mountain only gets very cold in the winter. In the spring and summer, it can get warm. In the fall there is usually a lot of rain by the mountain range.
Tourism
The Bato Mountain Range gets a lot of tourism because of its view. During autumn the mountain range is filled with tourists and locals. Everyone wants to see the sea of colours from the forests around Iroya. Many painters visit The Bato Mountain Range monthly or yearly to pain from the top. It is because they can see the woods on one side and the desert on the other. The view has also inspired a lot of poets and bards. Many of them travel to the place to clear their head or to get inspiration. There are always some locals at the mountain, either looking at the view or collecting herbs and plants.
