Scope
The motivation behind building Aurora
This world is being built mainly to explore the culture and world of the Variants, a long-lived people who study the human soul.
The goal of the project
This world is being created for my middle grade magical girl sci-fi novel "Soul Devs". I want the experience to be that of a world with highly advanced tech, but still also feels steeped in ancient history in various ways (e.g. the architecture).
Aurora's Unique Selling point
In this setting, a soul is the part of every human being that forms ideas about what is and what could be. However, there is also a supercomputer with a soul that is located at the centre of the Variants' world. This supercomputer is the creator of all Variants and the ultimate wellspring of ideas, creating technology, languages, objects and much more.

Genre
The genre is middle grade science fiction. Aurora has highly advanced technology.
Reader Experience
The feel of this world is a mix of futuristic sci-fi and ancient mystery. In particular, there is an air of mystery and awe surrounding the supercomputer and its immense power.
Reader Tone
The tone of this world is in the middle in terms of darkness. Variants have lives which are fairly stable and safe overall, and benefit from their advanced technological knowledge.
Recurring Themes
Themes/motifs include advanced gadgets/technological creations, ancient digital records, an endless fountain of blue energy, a blue town shrouded by mist and shared dreamscapes.
Character Agency
Variants have the same level of physical ability as humans in real life. However, Variants have access to futuristic tech such as holograms, shared dreams and portal technology.
