The History of Aurora so far
The first 15 Iteras (generations) of Variants have all passed away. An area of study for some Scholars is the lives of the 1st-5th Iteras, as they would be the ones who knew the most about how the Variants came to be and why.
Current Species & Cultures
Variants are an extremely long-lived humanoid species. They resemble humans but age much slower and often have unnatural hair and eye colours, among other differences. Unlike humans and the supercomputer, they do not have souls.
Needs & Relations
Variants are studying humans in secret in order to gain insight on their cultures and how the human soul works. The purpose of this is to solve the mystery of why the supercomputer created them to not have souls, and indeed why they were created at all. They are fascinated and intrigued by humans, their souls and their cultures because of the parallels between them and the supercomputer's ideas.
Humankind as a whole is currently unaware of the true nature of the human soul and the existence of Variants.
