Territus, the Iron Tyrant

Territus, also known as "the Iron Tyrant", is the god of war and iron. He is the patron of soldiers, metalworkers, and Goblinoids.   Territus is a vicious deity of violent men and aggressive ambitions. Often depicted as a fanged head of either flame or molten metal, he is said to perpetually push his followers into acts of violence. If his chosen warlords are to believed, Territus' ultimate ambition is to have his worshipers plunge the entire world into holy war in his name, conquering all in his name and elevating him above all his fellow deities.   Most notable of those who worship Territus are the Goblinoids. Mortal descendants of fey, Territus is said to have twisted them against their distant ancestors. He grants guidance and strength to his adoptive children, and through his tutelage did they form the great Goblin Khannate, which ultimately conquered the whole of the Helleynan Empire during the War of the Khan. The Khannate was ultimately defeated by the Aelfs of Old Aethra, but the remnants of their culture survive within the Rathlands, and rumors of late hint to a resurgence in the practices of the old faith.   An often overlooked side to Territus is his relationship with metal. It is said by some that his forge smiths are gifted with an innate sense for iron and steel, making them comparable to (if not better than) the finest smiths of Vulrundir's faithful. It was the goblins of Khanlohk who first created steel, and with Territus's malevolent rage fueling their fires, their forges created the Iron Avatars, blessed golems made from molten metal. Through metal, Territus is said to imbue his strength into his followers, and to this day, metalworkers still give him homage, even those whose work is unrelated to the waging of war.   Territus is worshiped as a primary deity in the Lore of the Deep (where he is known as "The Great Shark"), as well as one of the Sons of the Titan. He is considered an evil god by the worshipers of the Great Wheel of Aethra.

  • A Hobgoblin Khan who leads his people in the old way, through violence and strength.
  • A ranger sent out to hunt a dangerous local fey, hoping to avenge those who have been wronged.
  • An artificer forging an iron golem, tapping into the deep magics of the metal.
