Vulrundir, The All-Father

Vulrundir, known as "the All-Father", is the creator and patron god of Giants and Dwarves. He represents creation, wealth, history, and ancestors. Outside of his own successor races, he is also worshiped predominantly by blacksmiths, craftsman, and historians.   In eons past, it was Vulrundir who was the first of the Thirteen to create a race of people in his image. In the Age of Blood, he witnessed the dealings of the oldest races of Auvia, the Humans and Orcs, the Halflings and Fey. He deemed that they needed divine counterparts to the gods, his own progeny, to guide them in their troubles.   In this he created the Titans, the first among the Giants. They were said to be noble and just, imparting fire and craft to the young peoples of the world, for unlike many would assume, Vulrundir holds no disdain for the races of other gods and other origins. All creations, both deliberatly or organically created, must be honored and respected. In this, his first and greatest generation of Giant children succeeded, and his Titans reigned as demi-god stewards in an age immaterial.   But as generations past, the Titans became cruel and stupid. Their Giant successors were not generous stewards, but greedy tyrants and simple brutes. Worse yet, Vulrundir's sister-rivals, the twin goddesses Dragoon and Typhoon, would follow in his example and created their own children, the fearsome Dragons, who shattered the Giant race in their covetous fury.   But a god of creation does not dwell on his failures, for he must develop and improve. And so Vulrundir made his second race, the Dwarves. Where the Giants were intended to lead through nobility, the Dwarves were to lead by example, making great works in Vulrundir's name for all to see. But even in that they are said to have fallen short, as their desire to create has often left them greedy, insular, and victimized by their fearsome Draconic rivals, as well as their own jealous Giant-kin cousins.   But it is said that Vulrundir's work is not done. His numerous gifts to the mortal realm remain pivotal to this day. He and his Rune Priests maintain the longest historical records in the world, through the use of his own Runic tongue, the oldest and most historically unchanged language in the known world. His Sentinel Stones stand vigil at the northern most reaches of the continent, funneling diabolical energies to diminish the power of Demons on the material plane.   It is said that the All-Father's work is never complete. He is rumored to have remained on the material plane, working tirelessly within the holy northern mountains of Vulrundheim. What he is creating is unknown, from a third generation of children, to weapons to end the demonic incursions of the region, to some divine creation beyond the understanding of mortal minds.   Vulrundir is the primary deity of the Sons of the Titan pantheon, which holds the belief that he is the All-Father god reiging above the six deities considered to be his "lesser sons" (El'Braor, Haku, Jögrim, Ssektosh, Territus, and the Wildspirit). Because of his long-standing feud with the Draconic races, the Draconic Pantheon considers him their mortal foe.
