After escaping from the Sumber Hills and entering the tunnels of the underdark, Maliss asked Course to message her mother, Sethari Veness. However, inadvertently, she outed herself that her real name was not Monsoon after all.

Maliss asked Course to use a remaining message spell to contact her mother to let her know she was safe and alive, though her mother responded asking for both Maliss and Monsoon to return to Shasa Sarin. Confused, Course asked to know what was happening, and Maliss confessed the tragedy which had happened about a week and a half prior. Maliss also wondered why exactly her mother was ordering her home.
