Mister Kister

The Warden

Mister Kister is the warden of the infamous Hemlock Asylum. His origins are as big a mystery as the origins of the asylum itself, with nobody knowing exactly how or why he came into being. Some believe him to be some sort of quasi-deity who uses the asylum as his domain whilst others speculate that he himself is an entity manifested by the magic of the asylum, shaped and given life by its evil to keep its halls. Either way, he is thought to be thousands of years old at least and immortal from natural causes whilst bound to his demiplane. Kister is very rarely seen by the patients, preferring to observe from afar, making him a sort-of urban legend within its walls - an entity who punishes those who misbehave or try to escape from the confines of his prison. His mortal wards are his matrons, who control the patients of the asylum, and the resident surgeon, Dr. Qhasrel, who, under Kister's instruction, mutilates rulebreakers and turns them into horrible amalgamations cursed to roam the asylum halls as monsters.
Anyone who challenges Kister's authority meets the same fate.
