Sialan
The natural inhabitants of northern Alvana, the Sialan are a race of hardy folks adapted to climates that cycle between cold winters and warm summers. They are extremely proficient at surviving in the cold and relatively strong compared to other Avani races. Sialan are often associated with royal bloodlines in the north and have a lot of pride in their prestigious history.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Hailing from northern Alvana, a region with inhospitable winters and cool weather, the Sialan are adapted to live in snow and ice. They naturally store much more heat than most other races and can do it with less food sources. Their feathers change in thickness depending on the time of year. Most Sialan prefer mountainous and/or forested regions, preferably with conifer trees.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
The Sialan populations are concentrated in the fjords and conifer forests of northern Alvana, particularly in Arani and Sabani. Over the past thousand years they have also spilled over into portions of the modern-day Teutani States.
Average Intelligence
Sialan aren't necessarily more or less intelligent than other races, but they do seem to have a bit of an easier time applying their minds to learning new skills. They also often seem to be more eloquent speakers and better singers (though it is unclear whether this is a natural trait or a cultural influence).

Avis Illustratum Siala
Average Height

Average Weight

Average Physique
Compared to other avani subspecies the Sialan are strong, though not nearly as strong as their cousins, the Cyanni. They are able to fly while wearing heavier forms of armor such as metal or chain. The average Sialan also usually has the upper body strength to effectively use various types of bows, though it takes serious strength training to make weapons like longbows and warbows viable in combat.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Sialan feathers usually come in shades of bright blue, usually much brighter and more vibrant than those that appear on the closely-related Cyanni, with an orange stomach and white torso.
