The Cyanni are a physically-large subrace of Avani found exclusively on the island and kingdom that is named after them, the Cyanni kingdom. They are known for being one of the only types of Avani capable of flying while wearing metal-based armor, and they are one of the only races with the strength to effectively use a bow in combat. Since the Cyanni War they are also feared for rumors that dark magic has corrupted them.

Facial characteristics

Cyanni have a relatively unique crest of blue feathers on top of their heads. Depending on their mood this can be either raised or flattened against their head. It is most often fully extended when they are feeling excited, happy, or agressive, while flattened is associated with fear, sadness, or boredom.

Average Physique

Compared to other avani subspecies the Cyanni are quite strong. Most Avani are completely unable to fly while carrying anything heavier than about 1/5 of their body weight; Cyanni can carry almost half their body. This allows their version of "Light Infantry" to wield heavy weapons and armor (though they almost exclusively prefer gambeson or leather, if given the choice). Their upper body strength also consistently gives them the ability to effectively use longbows and warbows.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Cyanni are covered in blue feathers on their wings, back, sides and head, with a white chest and front of their head. Their neck has a ring of black plumage around it and more black feathers surrounding their eyes.
