Basilikaar Dynasty (B-ah-ss-ill-uh-car)

The Basilikaari people are one of the other races that originated in the Klal’El galaxy along with the Saurians. Generally they were very reclusive and did not interact with the Saurians, likely because of their believed superiority, but several wars between the two nations have been recordered in the histories. Eventually, for reasons unknown, the entire Basilikaar people just packed up all of their people and left the Klal’El galaxy and subsequently the surrounding pocket dimension. It is estimated that this occured in roughly the year 930 EWR in Avendora time. Their fate was unknown for millenia, but evidentially the Dynasty had eventually encountered by chance the Falconite Shogunate in the process of traveling from the Neldosh Galaxy to Avendora in flight from the Xanvau Horde. The Basilikaari took it upon themselves to cleanse the Xanvau taint on the galaxy and claim the Neldosh Galaxy for their own. They now battle the Horde in that galaxy, pushing them back mile by mile, too deep now to give up no matter the cost. And currently, it seems that they may be close to victory.

Structure

Lead by The Silver Council, which is composed of three kings (The Judge, The Warrior, and The Mystic), any and all memebers of the race show complete and total deference to them. The Basilikaari live in a very stratified society, with the plebeians at the bottom preforming the menial tasks happily, as they know and understand their place. Every individual is given the rough equivlant of an IQ test and are assigned professions based on their results and determined proficiencies. Their society is very honor based with lines of "honored blood" indicating higher honor status. As there are no family structures in their society, honored blood lines are instead based upon a lord and the members of his chapter (his warriors and servants). The word blood is still used as any member of the same chapter undertakes a ritual where they share blood with their lord, perminatly changing their DNA to share some aspect of their master. When a lord dies, they are succeeded by their designeated heir who they have previously chosen. If a successor is not designated before death, that chapter dies and all the servants are inclined by honor to commit ritual suicide, the warriors sending themselves out into the galaxy to kill as many enemies and gain as much honor back as possible, not stopping until they are all dead.   Lords: There are several types of lords: Battle-lords, Pundit-lords, and Artisan-Lords, Mystic-lords, Scholar-lords, Mariner-lords, and Surveyor-lords.
Battle-lords: As their name suggests, lead their followers into battle. While other types of lords have only a small contingent of warriors that typically act only as bodyguards, Battle-lords have a much larger amount of warriors with other servants being used primarily for aid in putting on armor and loading up transports or crewing vehicles. They and their followers find honor in victories in combat, and thus often seek out fights in times of war. In times of peace they often hold tournaments where they compete in mock warfare with other Battle-lords. Last, most often these lords have around 50-100 warriors under their command, however more prominent lords have amassed far more.
Pundit-lords: These lords serve as both the political and legal classes within the Dynasty's society. They deal with legal cases and the like as well as debating over legislation and the interpretation thereof. In addition, they typically serve as the embassadors who deal with internal and external organizations and geopolitics. Pundit-lords usually have a few bodyguard warriors with the rest of their acolytes being seevanys to do paperwork or menial labor.
Artisan-lords: These lords act as everything from valued architects to esteemed artists, anything that requires creativity. This could also include include things like scientists and inventors. Artisan-lords travel around and demonstrate their talents, with their followers typically being made up of aspirants to learn the craft as well as servants to aid them.
Mystic-lords: Dedicating their lives to studying the arcane, Mystic-lords are the most powerful Basilikaari capable of Void Wielding around. Some choose to use these talents for acts of destruction and aiding in war efforts and others find scientific and technological uses for their power, while yet others still create works of impossible art and the like. The entourage of one of these lords often has others who are more strongly connected to the Void than usually, the lord psychicly linking with them to add their power to his own.
Scholar-lords: The true scientists, mathematicians, and historians of the Dynasty, these lords often live in glorified labs and libraries instead of the more typical palaces. They constantly study their field and consider it their duty to share their findings with other lords and leaders depending on their relevancy. They often work hand-in-hand with Artisan-lords. Many Scholar-lord servants serve as scribes to transcribe their masters' deductions.
Mariner-lords: Mariner-lords often times never set foot on solid ground in their lives, instead preferring to stay in their ship amongst the stars. They are always searching for bigger and better ships to accomplish their chosen tasks, which range from warfare, to exploration, to migration. These lords work in unison with almost every other type of lord as space travel is a fairly essential aspect of the function of the Dynasty. Mariner-lord servants are mainly crewmen for their vessels or otherwise security or navigators therein.
Surveyor-lords: The last type of lord, Surveyors explore the universe (land, sea, and space) in search of new things, often times venturing far, far off into unknown space. Many Surveyor-lords never return, making it a statiscilly quite dangerous job. At the same time, they are highly honored as almost every major geographical discovery has been thanks to them.
(Basilikaari Battle-lord)   Guilds: around 1/8 of Basilikaari are in the service of a lord, with the rest being part of a guild. There are guilds for anything one could imagine, from farming, to art, to construction, with sub-guilds for more specialized fields.

Culture

The Basilikaari have a very honor and respect based society, with servants obeying their master without even the slightest hint of question. Lords are very highely esteemed, with offending or even inconveniencing one often resulting in very harsh punishment. Any indivual that chooses to leave their assigned guild/profession is disgraced and is considered outcast from society, all other Basilikaari instantly refusing to speak to or even so much as look at one of these individuals that has beeen excommunicated for any reason. Excommunication can also be incurred for any reason by a lord, reinstatement only being possible through the direct ascent and adoption into their entourage by another lord. Generally guilds keep to themselves and treat even other non- shunned individuals as albeit familiar outsiders. Other races are treated with almost as little respect as the excommunicated as Basilikaari beleive themselves to be the superior race in the universe by divine rite. Lords consider it debasing to speak to other races directly, instead communication through a servant's mouth directly via psychic link.

Military

The Basilikaar Dynsaty has a strange mix of military technology. Projectile weapons such as traditional bullet-firing guns are rarely if ever seen, the Basilikaari instead favoring hardlight bows and particle displacement energy blades. Most Dynasty warriors are armed with either energy polearms with small particle displacement blades at their tips or hardlight bows. Higher status Basilikaari such as battle-lords with often have far more powerful and agile particle displacement energy swords along with full robotic exoskeletons with inbuilt force shields projectors. Grunts of the dysanty armies typically have very little armor, the resources of Basilikaar instead going towards providing its highest status members with the best and most cutting edge (pun not intended) equipment.

(Basilikaari warrior armed with particle displacement energy blade)   Navy: The Basilikaar Dynasty favors quantity over quality when it comes to warships, sinking many billions in equivalent dollars into each vessel. Becasue of this attention to detail and quality, the Basilikaari navy is relativly small, but each ship has very advanced weaponry, shielding, and cloaking technology, their value to quantity ration exceeding even that of their fellow Klal’El orriginators in the Saurian Empire. Dynasty ships appear from seemingly nowhere to easily cut any enemy vessel they come across into glowing metal chunks with particle displacement energy beams, only to disappear again as they cloak and vanish. Even when they do stick around, their shields take large amounts of punishment before failing, making Basilikaari warships very survivable, which is good as they only have a few million.

Technological Level

The Basilikaari have mastered a sort of hybrid teleportation and atomic displacement technology. They use this for everything from small arms, to ship mounted weapons, to cloaking, to transportation. For the small arms aspect, atomic displacement energy blades are common. They work by projecting an energy filed out from a projector, typically in the shape of a blade or sword of some kind. This blade of energy pushes away any atoms it comes into contact with, compressing them on either side of where the blade travels to make room for the energy particles. In effect, this allows the blade to slice easily through nearly any material. This technology is scaled up for ship-based weaponry, with the basic concept remaining the same: a beam of particle displacing energy is projected out into space, then quickly moved across an enemy vessel, everything in the relativly thin line in between disappearing as it is compressed out of the way. This has an expectedly devastating effect. When the matter is compressed away from the beam in generates emense heat, leaving the two halves of the "cut" object glowing along their section line. With major modifications, this technology can be used to safely transport living mayter across physcial space, leading to teleportation stations being common across Basilikaari worlds as well as for FTL travel. Similar to energy displacement, hard light technology is often used by the Dynasty for war, industrial, and civilian uses alike. For war, this is seen as hardlight arrows that act just as real ones aside from traveling far faster as they possess almost no mass and the fact that they disentegrate a few seconds after being fired. It also has the utility of allowing Basilikaari vessels to bend light around themselves, turning them invisible very effectively as it even fools thermal and other advanced sensors. It also helped the Basilikaari to develope very advanced energy shielding for both ships and personnel, greatly extended the survivalbity of Dynasty combatants.
