Church of Kharjha
Public Agenda
The church exists exclusively to please their lord, Kharjha, appeasing his limitless wrath with the constant burning of Kharjhata Candles in their monasteries, offerings of lifelong servitude, and sacrifices of animals and even sometimes Saurians when atonement is required for an especially aggrgious dishonor.
Assets
As the only religion on Varn aside from Kharjhata itself (which is really just the less extreme version), the church currently has around 1 million members, almost all of which are on Varn as they believe leaving the planet is an act of disrespect towards Kharjha, and thus, heresy. Members of the church that must leave the planet to serve the military needs of their nation are given special devices resembling a type of lantern where the keep a Kharjhata Candle with its wick replaced with a fuel source sealed inside. They beleive that Kharjha himself can see the light of these candles anywhere in the universe, and thus he can see his devout followers at all times, even when outside his planet's atmosphere. This candle is kept burning for the entire duration of the individual's stay off-world, with a maximum burn time of around a month. They acolyte must return to refuel before the flame is extinguished as if the flame goes out, the acolyte will immediately end their own lives to clearly demonstrate to Kharjha that they are not attempting to evade his reach and sight.
