Kau (K-ow)
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kau, covered in short, typically white, black, or brown fur, have 4 arms ending in 3 fingered hands and 3 legs ending hoofs. Their arms are set in side by side shoulder sockets, two closer to the front of the torso and two closer to the back. Their legs, two in the front and one in the back almost like an opposable tail, allow the Kau to run very quickly, presumably as a trait evolved to escape predators in their primordial days. In their heads is perched one singular large central eye that protrudes from their face, allowing a great peripheral field of vision. Lastly two bone horn/nubs sprout 3-6” out from either side of their skulls.
Ecology and Habitats
Fairly temperate climates are preferred by the Kau, but they can survive in a surprising amount of temperature variation.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The digestive systems of the Kau cannot handle the proteins contained in meat, and thus subsist off of mainly plants and vegetables, fruits also being occasionally consumed even though their immune systems do not handle large amounts of sugar well either.
Behaviour
Kau have an innate burning curiosity that causes them to scour the galaxy for the unknown and experiment with everything from mechanical technology to genetic splicing…

Uses, Products & Exploitation
While technically functionally extinct, the Minotaur Dictatorship still keeps some Kau around as slaves, both to perform manual labor and to help invent and engineer new technology for them.
