Draxeeli
You may call us slaves, Dragonborn, but that is only because you are too blind to see the truth. The Dragons made us, even if you were a failed mutation of our splendor. We owe them our lives and our loyalty. And the fact you even debate this shows just how far you've fallen. So if you wish to splinter off and abandon the Dragons, we Draxeeli will make sure your blood soaks the soil of our future empire before you have the chance to run.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Like Dragonborn and Dragon Fera alike, Draxeeli vary in ancestry and nature. Each Draxeeli is born with a breath weapon even more powerful than their Draconic cousins but still weaker than their Dragon masters. This elemental breath weapon is based off the type of dragon they bear a lineage with and there are rumors that they can bear a second breath weapon related to the subspecies.
In terms of Anatomy, the Draxeeli have a tall and slender build compared to the tall and stocky build of the Dragonborn. Since they were built to be foot soldiers and even officers or generals, it is not hard for them to reach their physical peak and stay at it for a long time. Additionally, they bear draconic wings and tails just like the Dragon Fera and unlike the Dragonborn, able to use them even with the heaviest of armor.
Genetics and Reproduction
Draxeeli can either be made through normal means of reproduction or by throwing humanoids into vats that will turn them into Draxeeli. In Draxeeli or Dragonborn-Draxeeli relationships, it is typical for eggs to be the method which Firebrand guard fiercely to stop other clans from stealing them. In non-Draconic or Dragon Fera-Draxeeli relationships, they are not egg-based.
Draxeeli are the only species that do not produce half-dragons with Dragons. Instead they seem to create a 3/4 Dragon hybrid that while they have a draconic humanoid form, they can transform into dragons for a short period of time.
Growth Rate & Stages
If a Draxeeli was manufactured in alchemical vats, they are expected to reach physical maturity within the first year of creation. By age 5, they are mentally mature enough to take on the roles their Dragon masters expect of them. However, manufactured Draxeeli have become less and less of a common sight these days, especially since they only live 100 years.
Natural born Draxeeli which physical maturity by age 15 like Dragonborn and mental maturity by their late teens.
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
- The Kingdom of Bra'lakun: Both rulers and warriors within the Kingdom, the Draxeeli wish to push the agenda of their Dragon masters and unite all Draconics under one battle. Currently, they are at war with the Empires of the south and tensions flair between them and the Arachni.
- The Crystalian Empire: The empire of the Crystal Emperor and his son, the Draxeeli make up the Dragon Guard and are loyal to the throne.
History
Draxeeli were the perfect creation in the Dragons' eyes. Left with none of the imperfections of the Dragon Fera or Dragonborn, they served as capable foot soldiers and officers in Dragon armies. Giant legends tell of the ferocity of Dragons and their servants, honoring them as true warriors despite the hatred shared between Dragons and Giants. Their role was to serve and fight and they were marvelous at it.
However, the fall of the Dragons brought an end to their servitude which plenty of Draxeeli lineage still regret to this day when they couldn't fell the Elder Dragons that ravaged the land. Some went into hiding to protect their Dragon masters while the others went to build on the ruins of the Empire they built. It was because of this collective guilt that the Dragonborn and Draxeeli could never see eye-to-eye as the two had vastly different views on the Dragons. But nonetheless, they attempted to put those views aside to build a new world for themselves.
The Draxeeli continued to serve as soldiers and military forces for that country and when the Elders came, they were quick to defend their homeland. When the Dragons began to return to the world and called upon the loyalty of their servants, many Draxeeli were quick under the Dragon banner again. When the Dragonborn pushed back and wanted to be independent, this led to a civil war between them and the Draxeeli. fracturing their nation in two. While the Dragonborn formed the Ziminsi League, the Draxeeli and other Dragon loyalists created the Kingdom of Bra'lakun.
At first, the Draxeeli prepared to reunite the Draconics under one banner but when the Brandovian and Haiakage Empires started pushing north, they had to look to the new threat they faced. Now, the Draxeeli are being forged in the crucible of combat with the southern empires and some have even defected to the Haiakage as their war-loving society offers a good home for the marital bred Draxeeli. Whether or not all of them will succumb to this temptation has yet to be seen but this conflict could forge powerful Draxeeli that rival even the Dragons and whatever side gains this Draxeeli will have a force that could bring Alus and even the rest of Avestra to their knees.
Interestingly, there is a subset of Draxeeli on the eastern content of Edrinia. They are located only in the Crystialian Empire and the elite amognst their number serve as the Dragon Guard, the royal Guard of both the Crystal Emperor and the Dragon of the Bloodied Rose.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Draxeeli and Dragonborn are divided over their loyalty to the Dragons. As like as the Dragons are a factor in the world, there is likely little chance that the two sides will have unite again except to fight a greater threat for a brief moment. That same sentiment is not shared between the Dragon Fera and the Draxeeli as enough of them have proven loyal to the Dragons to not be questioned.
If the two were to ever meet, Wolf Fera and Draxeeli share an animosity as the two of them met on the battlefield as enemies when they both served the ancient empires of Dragons and Giants. However, due to the fact that these empires are gone and the Wolf Fera refuse to serve the Giants again, the two of them are willing to come to terms.
