Oncarinthi
Indeed, you are strong, Draxeeli. I am sure that your people will make a mighty addition to our empire. But you lack conviction. Your gods. Your loyalty. Your dragon blood. It means nothing if you don't have the strength to see your goal through. Your gods clearly don't as they are not here to stop us, to smite us down for our heresy. And despite your best attempts, we keep sailing across the strait to fight you on your own shores. So clearly you don't as well. So until either is the case, we shall continue to fight.

History
The Oncarinthi come from the continent of Orelia, south of Alus and the birthplace of the Brandovian and Haiakage Empires. It is believed that they were members of the ancestors of the ancestors of the Carinthi people but split off early in time, likely avoiding the wandering mindset that would grip both the Carinthi and Gattifolk alike. Instead they stayed in Orelia and made their home there. However, their home would constantly be threatened.
Orelia was torn asunder by conflict as Oncarinthi who traveled north like to say. Because those who were weak tried to rule and caused nothing but chaos. And those who claimed to speak for the gods tried to rise to power, using others in their pursuits. When the Elders came and no gods came to save them, that was the final nail in the coffin for the Oncarinthi of what would become Brandovia. They would not worship those who would not come to aid their followers in their time of need. Instead, they looked at the ones who did appear, the
Outsiders and the Eternals and the
Mortals who risked their lives against this threat. The Oncarinthi of what would become the Haiakage took the Elder Invasion to mean that it was time to scatter the weak and corrupt who would rule over the strong who deserved the positions they were kept from. The world only survived because those who were able took a stand and were the ones with true power. So why shouldn't all the strong have true power?
While they wouldn't be the rulers, the Oncarinthi served as soldiers and generals of both Empires. Once enough of the lessor powers were subjugated, the two looked to each other as rivals. But since they knew any conflict at that moment would lead to their destruction, they instead looked to the north where now there are more foes to face and more people to liberate from their blinded mindsets.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Oncarinthi loyal to the two empires hold no bias against the other species of Avestra. It doesn't matter who someone is, all that matters is either their belief in their own divinity or the strength they possess. Oncarinthi who left the Empire often find themselves in lands that remind them of their former homes. Some land in the Shogunates, living amongst the other catfolk or even heading northward to find themselves amongst the Dwarves or Orcs.
