Anatomy
At first glance, Simic Hybrids appear like ordinary Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Vedalken. However, that glance becomes a stare as people notice the animal features that they have spliced into them. These features usually come from aquatic, amphibian, or reptilian sources giving them gills or crab claws or other features. As such, people behind their backs call them magic experiments gone wrong.
Growth Rate & Stages
Simic Hybrids have only ever been found in adult form but the few records found suggest that they have accelerated growth due to the experiments. Most Simic Hybrids pass away by the time they reach their 60s though some have been found to live as long as 500s.

Civilization and Culture
History
The Simic Hybrids' origins date back to the Underoad but they are shrouded in much mystery. The few records suggest that the Under Empires began to experiment on volunteers to create unions between humanoids and animals similar to Shifters. These experiments raged from carapace and crab claws to gills and fins. Whatever the case, they were lost to the surface world when the Under Empires collapsed.
They reappeared in the aftermath of the Elders and their invasion, as sections of the Underoad began to be cleared once again. Some holds found vaults holding these people in stasis, waiting to be awaken once more. Other Simic Hybrids have awoken on their own, stumbling into underground holds or onto the surface world with no memory of who they were before. However, they seem to have something engrained in their psyche, telling them to find the group or family that they once held a connection to. Others had this connection shattered and now wander the land, not knowing what their purpose is and having to find one in this new world they've woken up in.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Because of their appearance, Simic Hybrids are often viewed with awe and fear. As such, they often try to hide their features if possible with magic or clothes, only exposing themselves when the need is dire. Tykriels and Gnomes both view them as interesting specimen, allowing them to live amongst them to study them and help them understand their condition. Some abuse this trust and perform gruesome experiments, causing some Simics to view them with suspicion.
