Warforged

After the Automaton Uprising in Coppervale, sentient constructs were known to exist. During the conflict, some of the automatons escaped and fled to other regions. Those that went north to the Skarloan Empire found people that were fascinated by them and were supportive of their independence.
With the help of arcanists and druids, these new life forms grew in intelligence and sophistication as they incorporated living plant material into their bodies and the Warforged race was born. A side effect of this change is that unlike other automatons, healing magics actually work on Warforged. They are able to reproduce by assembling smaller bodies from the materials of one or more partners. These new beings mature, physically and mentally, at a rate very similar to humans.
