Scope

The motivation behind building Ayonerra

Ayonerra’s Foundation

Ayonerra is a shared project between a husband and wife duo – Nikoloz and Nincho. The mutual love for mythology and fantasy inspired us to create a world of our own.

Goals

Initially envisioned as a webcomic in late 2015, the world overgrew its original scope. Instead, we wish to publish several books in the setting, featuring various locations, themes, people and tribulations the characters face. Ayonerra also motivates Nincho’s development in art, allowing for visual presentation.

Unique Selling Point

s Non-classic races – From the very beginning, we wished to create different races devoid of inherent assumptions. The reader doesn’t know what a bahhraym might look like, or how a hska's soul is formed until we explain it!

s Ever-arrogant stars – Prideful, petty, egocentric, cannibalistic, migraine-inducing cosmic abominations.

s Cultural Mix – Clothing and architecture ranging from ancient Georgia, Mesopotamia and Egypt to those inspired by Mongolia, Persia and more. Mixing and matching to form its distinct look based on the region, with a pinch of anachronism.

Genre and Tone

High fantasy with both high and low stakes depending on the protagonist. Tone similarly ranges from light-hearted shenanigans to gut-wrenching tragedies. Yet people persevere, often against all odds.

Recurring Themes

s People need each other. Diverse backgrounds allow for various points of view.

s Revenge is either self-destructive, destructive to others, or both. It brings no satisfaction.

s Letting go and starting anew isn’t cowardice.

s What others think of you doesn’t matter as much as who you are. Find those who see past assumptions.

s Live life responsibly, especially when others depend on your judgement. Some things mustn’t be neglected.

s The price of power.
