The Blooming

The Blooming is a summer holiday in Azimuth. It is celebrated yearly on 27 Jeden, the anniversary of the first blooming of the World Tree after its near destruction. It is mostly celebrated by elves and in Soretta, the Undying Aristocracy, where it is known as a celebration of perseverance.

Description

In the middle of the Third Age, Esturk, The World's End, attacked Azimuth again, bringing his fury to the World Tree. Great swathes of the branches and leaves burned in dark divine fire and segments were warped into iridescent glass.
After the attack, the World Tree stopped its yearly bloom, and for many seasons the elves lamented, worried for the fate of the holy tree. Eventually, after several years, once again the World Tree bloomed and the elves rejoiced. They marked the occasion with a great celebration, which has become a yearly holiday.
