Azimuth
The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings
Welcome to Azimuth, the culmination of years of play, hours and hours of planning and work, and countless daydreams, conversations, ideas, and stories, pulled together into one tome. It’s a strange feeling creating an atlas such as this. I never would've imagined trying to create this wide and deep of a place for our little tabletop. Defining things both big and small is challenging and fun, from the corners of an imaginary nation of orcs all the way to the above-table connections my make-believe world has with the vast multiverse we all play in. This has been a truly rewarding and engaging experience, and I’m happy to now share this with you.
After our first campaign,
The Zenethian Heroes, we were left with a world changed. The Azimuth that I first presented was irrevocably changed by our story, touched in countless ways. Wars were fought, items forged, alliances made, and battles won and lost. Our first foray saw a vast track of this land, and each space was elevated by the array of characters and monsters that started populating my graph paper maps. I provided the spark, and you all breathed life into each corner of Azimuth and helped craft it into what it now is: a world recovering and moving forward in the wake of their greatest yet heroes, truly an Age of Beginnings.
This is a labor of love for our Dungeons & Dragons table. And yet it is just the start. With each campaign, each story, each session, Azimuth continues to evolve and grow and reach its tendrils to the hearts and memories of more characters and players. From the world we’ve made together, this compilation is presented to you. I hope these pages can bring you inspiration for stories and characters yet to see our, to me, deeply meaningful stage.
Herein is the stardust of heroes, waiting for you to create legends.
