Truthseeker Axe
The Truthseeker Axe is the main weapon of High King Thorik Oathenhammer. It is an enchanted axe that can reveal spoken falsehoods.
Description
The Truthseeker Axe is a long, two-handed axe with a single curved blade. The haft of the axe is curved forward to the same side the axe head is on. At the tip of the haft is a metal spike. The axe is of dwarven make and is enchanted. When active, the axe can reveal spoken lies in its vicinity, however it is not infalliable and has been deceived before. Each time High King Thorik used the axe on the Zenethian Heroes, it was placed in close proximity to the speaker's neck, though it is not known if this is a requirement. The axe has a visual glow around it when active, which falters when it detects a spoken lie.History
The Fourth Age: The Age of Shadow
In Adroth 4A 995, a doppelganger disguised as a defector from Branca entered Endor, the First Mountain. Through the doppelganger, Psaro the Manslayer spoke with High King Thorik Oathenhammer and convinced him that King Alphonse Brancana was raising an army to attack Endor. Though High King Thorik used the Truthseeker Axe on the disguised doppelganger, this lie was not detected. In Adroth 4A 996, High King Thorik Oathenhammer used the Truthseeker Axe to determine the Zenethian Heroes were truthful in their intentions when they brought the relocated orc refugees of the Tarterian War to Endor, the First Mountain. Later in 4A 996, High King Thorik used the axe on Rath, the Blackguard, after his corruption caused him to fatally strike Trip at the Endor Tunnel. Through the Axe, he determined that it was not Rath's actions that slew his sister, though he did nothing to prevent the action either.
