Winzen
Winzen hugs the coast of the small oblong island, perching over the lapping turquoise waves of the surrounding sea. Wooden docks extend outward at every angle, trod by burly fishers and harried sailors who bark orders as they come and go. Boats bob lazily in the water while the fishers cast their nets, and sails appear on the horizon as larger ships prepare to drop anchor. An open-air market, shaded by the palms of towering trees, dominates the city, offering fresh fish and crabs and myriad exotic goods from faraway lands. Colorful banners flutter in the warm, salt-laced air.
