The Dwarven Marche of Three Peaks

Current Month: Julwar 2nd: 209, The Fifth Age
The Dwarven Marche of Three Peaks is a multi-marche independent Dwarven nation-state, which lies within three towering mountains on the northern border of the Western Dales.   One of the oldest surviving kingdoms in the area, the Three Peaks has existed long before the The Second Fall, the most recent near-apocalyptic event that "reset" or destroyed nearly all of the existing nations on the planet.   Along with many other "carryover" nations, the Three peaks has avoided external relations for most of The Fifth Age, and has sustained their kingdom through traditional Dwarven industry, discipline, and stubbornness.

Structure

The Three Peaks governmental system revolves around the 104, a parliamentary body of house leaders acting as lawmakers, legislators, and electors.   In addition to their representation in the 104, the house leaders have specific areas of jurisdiction among the affairs of industry, policy, and military. The most prominent houses control a majority of the marche's major operations, each individually governing a subset of national duty.
  • House Aeducanaut handles the majority of military matters pertaining to surface defense.
  • House Carverspike handles military affairs involving subterreanean defense.
  • House Thundersmite favors arcane matters, and oversees most magical subjects.
  • House Bronzespine primarily manages mithril production, from mining to affairs of Mithril trade and commerce.
  • House Irongrip oversees metalworks, metalworkers, and the House of Smiths.
  • House Zinthron is responsible for architectural and masonic affairs, ranging from municipal and structural projects, to art and artistic heritage.
  • House Burrowmont is comprised of merchants managing trade and commerce with the surface.
