Husks have a hard go of things. As do Teiflings. Too bad he's both.
The wings come in handy, as do the bouts of inhuman strength, speed and reaction. In fact do not fuck with Azazel. It didn't help that before his trauma he was a trained assasin. 40 years ago he was a paladin who commanded some respect.
He had no mark and you couldn't move much higher as a Paladin without one. Othello was temping but... there was word of something more extreme, more experimental at Axis. Being unfocused, Azi was willing to try anything. Too bad he had a distaste for husks.
As the year ended Azezals transformation was complete and he was a demonic freak. Fangs, talons, black eyes... even the faint air of smoke around him at all times. He was the monster humanists feared. These days he wears a magic necklace designed by himself, constantly casting disguise person on himself to give himself a more understated teifling appearance.
He worked for Axis in the proceeding decade. 3 years as a decorated member of the field crew before moving to "desk work" in the Department of Posterity. A publicly small government wing that in reality, acts as a secret police. After a decade of successful work, he was ejected from the organization under false pretences. Of course he Cornelius Fern was to blame.
Stripped of all ranks and kicked out on the street, he became a fixer. Working mostly for the Geist family, Azi now works as a paid assasin. Killing mostly bad people but taking jobs based on the pay.
He owes Laz a couple favours though.
