You first met Muriel at the cave hideout that the Martikov family was holding up during the occupation of the Wizard of the Wine's winery. She seemed to be close with the Martikovs and was friendly with you. One of the few people you have seen with a genuine smile since you arrived in Barovia.
After learning of the stolen magical gem that grew the grapes in the first place, Muriel informed everyone that she saw a large group of Forest Folk moving southwest of the winery. She joined you at Yester Hill to stop the ritual being performed by the Forest Folk. However, during the struggle, You, T.O.D.D., and Muriel were grappled by the Forest Folk and were being dragged away from the ritual. During this struggle, you watched Muriel disappear out of the hands of the Forest Folk. She then somehow made her way to the Ballista and fired it upon Arabelle's request at Wintersplinter.
When you confronted her on it, she denied it but then put a sword to your neck and begged you not to say anything. She then vanished again when your back was turned. Whatever you saw, seemed to be something Muriel was trying to keep secret. Knowing what you had seen has greatly perturbed her and made her extremely agitated.
