QUEEN RAVENOVIA

Mother to STRAHD VON ZAROVICH, she feared for her younger son, SERGEI VON ZAROVICH, after the bloody wars Strahd waged changed him into a colder, more ruthless man (following the death of KING BAROV). She kept the second son away from battle and showered him with love. 
In an effort to demonstrate his love for his mother, Strahd named CASTLE RAVENLOFT after Ravenovia. Both Sergei and his mother were summoned to Barovia upon the castle's completion.
However, she died en route and, filled with grief, Strahd had Ravenovia's body interred under the castle in a crypt.
