Halkirk

Halkirk marks the northern border of Moraulden, and lies at the corners of Aerelith, Oestmark, and The Sha'ad Wastes. The treaty of Halkirk was signed here, marking the end of the war between Moraulden and The Duchy of Oestmark, and became the signing place of the peace treaty due to its historical significance, as well as it's proximity to the newly established border zone.

History

Halkirk was the first Oestmarken colony in Aerelith. It acted as the sole gateway into the region prior to the founding of Thennerim many years later. The meeting of the plains of Oestmark and the lush, foreboding forests provided excellent soil for Halkirk to raise enough food to supply most of the future colonists venturing further south, who would travel through the town and gather supplies before their last push into the wilderness. This greatly aided the founding and growth of the other cities of Moraulden.
